If you are on this page it is probably because you have been directed here for our RE Assessment downloads. The authors offer a fresh look at the 'I Can' Statements so that they can be used as a simple way to assess pupils' attainment against age-appropriate expectations. Just scroll down for the information and keep scrolling for the downloads.
The Document, A Simple View of Assessment in RE explains how the 'I Can' statements have been adjusted and set against key questions to help teachers' assessment. There are two assessment grids, one for Key Stages 1-2 and one for Key Stage 3. They can simply replace the I Can Statements in any RE assessment context. The documents are:
Six Areas of Enquiry - from RE Online (PDF)
Simple View of Assessment in RE - intro (PDF)
KS1-2 assessment tables (PDF and Word)
KS3 assessment tables (PDF and Word)
The various spreadsheets, courtesy of St Mary's Bryanston Square CE Primary School, are based on the grids, and offer a simple Excel-based recording system. These materials are widely used in the Diocese of London. All materials are free to use but please acknowledge the authors if you do use them.
